Terms of Use

Temple Mount Sifting Project of the Israel Archaeology Foundation

Effective July 7th, 2015

These Terms of Use (The “Terms of Use“) govern use of the website and donations to the Temple Mount Sifting Project (TMSP), an archaeological research project. By donating funds, users agree to be bound by these Terms of Use, our Privacy Policy, all applicable laws and all conditions or policies referenced here (collectively, the “Terms“). The Temple Mount Sifting Project may amend the Terms at any time by posting a revised version of the Terms on our website.

In these Terms, we refer to those contributing funds as “Contributors” and to the funds they contribute as “Contributions.” Contributors and other visitors to the crowdfunding website are referred to collectively as “Users.”

The Temple Mount Sifting Project Crowdfunding Campaign

The Temple Mount has created an online crowdfunding venue for people and entities seeking to donate funds and to contribute to the success of the project. The TMSP can offer gifts or rewards in the form of tangible items or intangible services to Contributors. Gifts are not offered for sale. The TMSP is legally bound to perform on any promise and/or commitment to Contributors (including delivering any gifts). The TMSP will respond promptly and truthfully to all questions posed to them by any Contributor. The TMSP will comply with all applicable laws and regulations regarding the use of the contributions and the delivery of the Perks. The TMSP is not responsible for collecting and remitting any taxes on the contributions, or any taxes due in connection with gifts.

Eligibility to Use the Services

Contributors under 18 years of age are not eligible to donate without consent. Contributors between the ages of 13 and 17 can donate with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who is at least 18 years old, provided such parent or legal guardian also agrees to be bound by the Terms and agrees to be responsible.

Contributors are solely responsible for asking questions and investigating the TMSP to the extent they feel is necessary before making a Contribution. All contributions are made voluntarily and at the sole discretion and risk of the Contributor. The TMSP guarantees that contributions will be used as promised, that they will deliver Perks, and that the Campaign will strive to achieve its goals. The TMSP is solely responsible for determining how to treat the donations. If a donation is returned to a Contributor, the associated Perks, if any, shall be canceled.

Contributions are not refundable. If the TMSP is unable to perform on any promise and/or commitment to Contributors (including delivering any gifts), the TMSP will work with the Contributors to reach a mutually satisfactory resolution, which may include the issuance of a refund of Contributions.

The physical gifts (unlike the tours, hosting, etc.) will be sent by the local mail service to the address given by the contributor within 8 months from the payment.  Gifts that are claimed via the Hebrew version of this website will be sent only to addresses within the borders of Israel.

Gifts that include tours (at the Sifting Site, the Archaeological lab or the Temple Mount) do not include the means of transportation to Jerusalem. The donors should request this gift whenever he\she is in Jerusalem.  Further details regarding how to coordinate the schedule of the tour and other details will be sent to donors after payment.

Contributions made directly by credit cards are not tax deductible. Contributions may be tax deductible if made through a US based partner, which will be responsible to provide contributors with a tax document if required by the relevant taxing authorities (see more info within the donation options on the website). The TMSP makes no representations, warranties or other assertions as to the potential tax deductible status of any contribution to the project.

English Language

In the event of a conflict between these the English language version of the Terms and any foreign language translation versions thereof, the English language version of the Terms shall govern and control. All disputes, claims and causes of action (and related proceedings) will be communicated in English.
